Life

All “Life” blog posts. This category is already self-explanatory but since I need to fulfill the SEO requirements (the red icon really bothers me) I have to explain that these posts are about my personal life and whatever happens outside of my usual topics. I might posts some sensitive topics here and might use some triggering words but please understand that is what I strongly feel at that time.

↝ I might regret posting these topics in the future but I am sure that it can blow off some steam out of me. I don’t need something to bother me for days, I need an outlet.

Halloween!

  • Life

Happy Halloween! It’s finally the last day of October, and November is just around the corner.

So, how is everyone doing? I’m sure many of you are enjoying your own version of “Trick or Treat” with your families or coworkers. In our culture, the Western-style “Trick or Treat” is a relatively new concept. We don’t go knocking on our neighbors’ doors or bring kids to the office for festivities. Instead, our tradition involves spending the day cooking and preparing for a potluck the following day. It’s a time for family gatherings and a chance to remember our departed loved ones by visiting their graves and staying there until sundown.

On November 1st, the border between our world and the underworld is believed to become thin or merge, allowing both harmful and benign spirits to pass through. That’s why people visit the graves of their loved ones—to show that they are present and celebrating with them, even if the spirits cannot see them directly.

Day-off — Life Update 3

  • Life

Day-off coming up! So, life has been tough lately, and I’ve been finding it increasingly challenging to stay focused, especially when it comes to my recent post. It could be the lingering feeling of being “under the weather,” but I’ve noticed that I’ve been managing to push through and get things done both at home and at work.

However, as time goes on, I’ve been losing my motivation for various tasks, including the personal projects I had planned last year. It’s disheartening to admit that I’ve hit a roadblock and had to abandon those projects midway.

After discussing it with my best friend, we both concluded that I might be experiencing burnout. Alongside the mounting stress, I’ve also been making mistakes at work, which has led me to contemplate quitting and taking a much-needed break for a month or two. After that, I plan to start job hunting again.

Mental exhaustion, a very slow recovery

  • Life

It has been over a year since the start of this extended lockdown, and I have been living alone in this small space that I call home for quite some time now. Typically, when I feel tired from work or being out and about, taking a rest is my go-to solution, allowing me to recharge and prepare for the tasks and responsibilities awaiting me the following day. However, there are moments when everything feels more challenging than usual.

Yup. Exhaustion.

Mental exhaustion has become an all-too-familiar experience, particularly in the current times. Initially, I mistook it for mere tiredness, but it took me over three months to fully grasp that it was something more. I found myself unable to concentrate on my work or any activities that used to bring me joy. My passion for playing games vanished, and I constantly felt frustrated and angry in my interactions with others. To make matters worse, my recurring disorder, Trichotillomania, resurfaced sporadically, adding to the challenges I faced.

Cleaning. I can’t believe it’s been a year

  • Life

As I sit here, watching the news and realizing that a lockdown will be imposed again tomorrow, I can’t believe it’s been a year since I moved into this place. This time last year, I was tirelessly cleaning the flat, removing cobwebs and molds. The bathroom was particularly disgusting and made me cringe. It’s astonishing how messy some people can be.

However, I can’t complain too much since my brother and sister-in-law were the previous tenants, and this is an old unit. With a little bit of furniture and a thorough deep cleaning, things can surprisingly look decent. Well, except for the sinks. I can’t understand why they clog up so quickly, even after using hydrochloric acid. I suspect it’s due to how the pipes are aligned.
